Alan Sklar has been a freelance voice actor for over fifteen
years, voicing radio/TV commercials and VNRs, narrating
everything from audiobooks and documentaries to corporate video
projects and physician-targeted medical videos.
Alan has been recruited to narrate over 40 audiobooks, among
them, "A Civil Action" by Jonathan Harr and
"Black Hawk Down" by Mark Bowden. Other fun and
challenging audiobook assignments were, "The Cat Who Came
For Christmas" by Cleveland Amory, "Red Dragon"
by Thomas Harris, and "Enough Rope" by Lawrence Block, (the 900-page mother of all
audiobook detective story collections.)
Alan has
also narrated many of Sikorsky Aircraft's marketing and
equipment maintenance videos. When the Generals in The
Pentagon watch a video introducing a new Sikorsky helicopter
model, you-know-who's doing the talking. NASA, too,
produces videos to show The Congress, The White House, and The
Pentagon how they are spending taxpayer bucks. Alan was
enlisted to narrate several of them.
Occasionally Alan is booked on-camera, and with a blue suit, a
red tie, and a teleprompter, he coaches salesmen, introduces new
products, or explains the new company benefit plan to
employees. On-camera clients include Con Edison, AT&T,
Boeringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer, Pitney Bowes, and
U.S. Surgical.
